The day wasn't bad, really.
The same old humdrum, went to BGS class and said my usual stuff. It's amazing how people will repeat facts from the textbook with this supreme look of confidence, but when people ask them, so what does this mean? their jaws dangle in midair as they search the textbook for the answers.
I know what's in the textbook. We all do.
The answers aren't in there. They're not in the readings, they're not in wikipedia. They're really in your head, just waiting for you to find them.
It disappoints me when people come to the same old textbook answers over and over again when we could be talking about how to change the world, about understanding people, about the greater stuff in life. But this is the nature of the system.
Sigh.

But sharing isn't always a good thing i guess. When we absord too much negative energy, too much anger and frustration that isn't really our own, we begin to take on the reflected anger and sadness.
I guess it's just another way of saying that I'm sad that people are sad, that people I know are frustrated with life, have lost their direction. It wasn't so long ago that I crawled out of that particular mess, albeit temporarily. I guess I succeeded then, I can now feel their pain reflected upon me.
And yet, I don't help them.
Sometimes, it's because they have to come to their own decision. The only way they can grow is to fall down and scab their knees. I can help, but I shouldn't. In other cases, the help will not be welcomed, will not be accepted. It's not my place to help them. That's even worse. I can help them, but they don't want it. The worst type is when you know there is absolutely nothing you can do to help, no matter what you do.
And standing by, knowing this, and just watching their misery fills me with this inexpressible, overwhelming sorrow.
