Hey guys n girls,

Another week is coming to a close, and the promos loom over the horizon like some spectre from yesteryear returning to haunt us. Suddenly All the stress from last year’s prelims are coming back. That can’t be good can it? Sigh. Whatever it is I don’t think its going to disappear anytime soon.

Adversity or hate sometimes brings people together. Case in point: My ENTIRE class hates our CT. Yes. EVERYONE agrees on that point. We spent about 40 mins during GP just ranting about him. At first the discussion was on capital punishment. You see we were talking about the NUS case where some scumbag(that’s what the paper called him) technician stabbed a dean with a paper cutter and whether he deserves to die. Eventually people started asking why all the people who were with the dean at the time did nothing, and I replied shock. Then I put forward a situation where some guy just walked into class and stabbed a teacher, what would we do. Cheng Yi said if the teacher was Mr Yu he would be more than happy to lend a hand. It went downhill from there.

Had some bumming session with Alec and Jik and Mak today. Stupid mak was sitting there and stoning again. And he complains that we don’t bum around enough. Sigh you are a dumb mak. Anyway listened Jik’s problems solving formula which was drilled into my head during today’s session. I don’t really like to talk about my problems. Especially now when I put a lot of them behind me. Sigh that session today made me feel quite unhappy actually. A lot of things I thought I left behind rose from the sea and crawled up to those pretty white shores and ruined everything. Ever since the alignment change I had a week or so ago I basically gave all the problems up and threw them to the winds. I mean I can only bother about so many of them at once right. I cant handle studies and health and relationships and people all at the same time. It’ll drive me mad. Oh wait it nearly did. See why I shouldn’t unearth the shallow graves? And some of these problems I thought I didn’t really care about anymore. I mean if I’m the outcast of s6 then so be it. If you know me and shun me fine. I must have done something wrong. But if people who don’t even know me can judge me and tell others tales, then I think they can go to hell and burn forever. I can’t please everyone, and least of all these people. Jik told me to try and widen my social circle in s6 and I agree with him, though. I really don’t know all that many people in s6. The people I know in arts or s7 is actually about double of those I know in my own fac. I surprised myself when I thought about it today. And no guys, I’m NOT going to jump down a building anytime soon….so don’t worry too much, ok? I’ve got a little bit of hope so I’ll hold on for a little while longer.

Vanessa asked me a question today. If the world ended 5 hours from now, what would I do. I don’t like to think about these apocalyptic thoughts, but I have this strange little feeling there’s going to be a time that everyone has to think about this and maybe this is my time. Going to think about it now. The results might surprise myself, even...

Hey guys and girls,

I’m writing this at 4.50 in the morning actually. Still quite sleepy and tired but there it is. My sis was actually supposed to finish with the com during the afternoon allowing me to have free rein over it during the night hours, but she fell asleep and so I had to wake up at 3 to do my PW. Sigh. How annoying. Note: When I say today I don’t mean Friday. I mean Thursday.

It was a fairly shitty day anyway. It was all fine and dandy up till recess time. Everything was going to plan, it being Thursday and all. Common breaks are great. And Thursday math tutorial is also great. We had lots of fun taking pictures with our cameras. There were like 5 or so people who brought them for PW. Including me.

However, that’s about it. Reading period was infuriating. I don’t like the way that JT handled the Yee Hung incident at all. “ I only edited it” indeed. It sounds like he wrote that under duress. No doubt he was remorseful, and “Filled with regret”, but that sounded like some confession you make to some bigshot to get away with something. I mean I didn’t really like Yee Hung’s comments and I thought they were a shade untimely and blunt, but I don’t think he deserved this mockery of a NE session. Gross public humiliation. Not just him. I bet the guys we’re supposed to be clapping for are pretty abashed themselves. Who wants to be recognized for just telling people off? It’s a personal matter and it’s really none of the school’s business if they did scold him. So why mention it? This whole session was a comedy of blunders from the start. I hope that they won’t waste our time with such a blatant attempt to justify our school’s need for reputation. Only fools will judge a whole school by one person and if the dear colonel chooses to do so then I can only say that no matter how magnanimous and gracious he is, he is certainly not very intelligent. JT presumes to speak for him, as well. This feels like some documentary staged to teach everyone a lesson: preserve the pretty reputation of the school at all costs. Not that I completely disagree. We must strive to maintain it, but I feel its going overboard that the one of the reasons why “the staffroom was abuzz” was because of the damage to the school’s reputation. I think that should be the last of worries at that point. Instead, they should be considering why the remarks were made and how to salvage them. But you know how that goes. Hah! And no digital cameras allowed. I wonder why.

After the carefully staged performance, we had chem. Stupid Miss Ooi is a bloody bitch who ought to go face a wall and chant sutras to it for the rest of her very short life. She comes in starts scolding people for absolutely no reason and demands that we take out our alkenes tutorial. The problem is, no one’s done it. Why? Because we’re still halfway through alkanes. She had the gall to say we came to lesson unprepared. And gave us a mighty big scolding too. Then when we informed her that she wasn’t quite done with alkanes yet we got another scolding and she refused to go back and look at it. Fine. Then she picks on Andrew and Chengyi again for the 50th tutorial in a row. There’s a wave of angry mutterings going around at this time. Fine. Then the bell rings and she demands we stay back for remedial. So we sullenly agree, given that it’s probably worse NOT to go for remedial. Then a repeat of the whole incident happens. She takes out a completely new remedial worksheet that she passed to us last week and asked us if we did it. Of course we didn’t. She only finished 2 questions on the previous exercise! Out of 15 I might add. Then we get another scolding for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and she goes on and on about how the remedial is extra work for her and how she’s so kind and caring as a teacher and is willing to stay back and work with us. Whole load of crap. Stupid puffed up hypocritical crone! Hope she walks into a wall or something.

After the fiasco, I went with my PW group to interview David Lim. He was quite a nice guy and was quite friendly. He has 4 pets: 2 cats and 2 dogs, all of them adopted from animal shelters. Here’s a piece of advice: if you really want a pet, go to animal shelters and get one. Don’t buy one. There are enough homeless cats and dogs to last us for a few years worth of demand. Anyway took 30 home from Clementi. An hour long bus ride. I was creaking and cracking when I alighted. Ginza plaza is so spooky!

Yeah that’s about it. Thanks for reading! =).

Even now the storm crows fly.
The mothers weep and the children cry.
None shall judge and all shall be judged,
for we must pay for the sins of our fathers.

Winter is coming.

Hey guys n girls,

Sorry about not updating yesterday… Dad wanted to defrag the com and there was this slight detail about it taking about 12 hours. We started defragging at 5.30 in the afternoon and this morning when I woke up at about 5.30, it was still furiously ‘fragging. Then tonight I told my sis to pass me the com at 9.00 but she “accidentally” forgot the time and passed it to me at 9.30. Then my mom wanted to use it halfway through my writing and so I have a pitiful hour or so to finish my entire entry. Sighs. The world is conspiring against me, methinks.

The week was pretty slack I’d say. Other than some minor hiccups it was quite fine. That talk on Wednesday pissed me off. Bad enough we had to endure some 2 hours worth of propaganda, but worse that we had to endure a scolding for absolutely no reason. That Yeehung guy really went over the line. Sure we all have our grouses with the administration and all that but I think we can all be civil in our complaints. Or maybe not.

Thursday was quite fine. Went out with Fei Fei, Alec and Jik to eat at pastamania. Hmm the portion was quite small but I guess it tasted good enough that it didn’t really matter how much there was on the plate. Had fun laughing at the resident couple in school. Yes Mak your secret is out ;P.

Friday was national day celebrations. I’m not an extremely patriotic person. I guess it stems from me not liking the governm… ok nevermind I don’t want to be locked in solitary confinement till my hair reaches my toes. I guess I love the country but not the people running it. Well anyways Andrew and Chengyi started calling my name during the audience participation section to saboh me. Unfortunately Weili and Tengsoon and the others all caught on and I thought I was doomed when Johnny happened to hear the rather loud cajoling. Thank goodness my bum was planted on the floor and he gave up after four or so seconds. Instead Di Yan took the bullet. Phew. After the celebrations I went to meet up with Mike and Alec at BK orchard. The bus stop was so crowded I had no great hopes of getting out of the place anytime before the turn of the next century. Fortunately better sense prevailed and we got on a extra long 67 after about half an hour. There was this whole bunch of 6-2 guys and one very out of place 7-8 girl. For some reason, everyone had the same idea to get on the bus, alight at Newton and take the MRT to orchard or wherever. As a result, the rather shorter Alec was nearly asphyxiated, pulverized and trampled over. Went to BK slacked around for a little while and waited for mike to turn up. He did turn up a little later. About half and hour? And we just sat there and flopped cards. In BK???! I amaze myself. Then I decided to leave and go to the karaoke gathering that Chengyi planned. I got that rather late and ended up having lunch with Andrew and Marcus before wandering around hoping that no attendants were around. You see, there’s this minor glitch that it’s pay per person not pay per room so only 5 people were allowed in the karaoke room. So we decided to play around with the rules and rotate those within and without. Haha it worked quite well actually, but after awhile we didn’t bother to “Take shifts” and just cramped 8 or 9 people into the same little room. =). I must admit my singing totally sucks. I can’t hit high notes and my voice tends to break easily nowadays. Must be all the chilli I’m taking. OK must cut down. It was quite surprising how good the others were at singing though. Chengyi has a very nice deep manly voice and Shuiling should go take part in a karaoke competition. Vanessa wasn’t too bad either. Oh and had fun laughing at the Jay Chou MTV they were playing on the screen. Ok I don’t think Jay Chou is a poor musician or anything, but I tink he’s just a little bit over-hyped. And he has a legion of female and “pseudo-female” fans who think he’s the most handsome guy this side of the earth. Sorry guys he has buckteeth small eyes and the silliest expressions. Though I cant really criticize his music except that he slurs when he’s singing which makes it quite irritating to figure out what he’s saying sometimes.

Nothing much I can say about Saturday. Grandma popped by and had breakfast with us. Then I spent the day slacking/sleeping/studying. (S^3!) I sat next to window and watched the fireworks alone again this year. They fireworks look a lot nicer if you live about 1.5 or so km from the stadium and on the 16th floor. Maybe you guys should come over one day and take a look. I get free viewings during the national day previews too! It’s amazing how fireworks and bombs are made from essentially the same stuff.

Right and now we have today. Nothing much can and should be said about school, but the nice thing was I won a draft! Whoo! Got some of my investment back so I’m quite pleased. On the way out of serene we saw the 174 coming round the corner and decided to make a run for it. So we were sprinting all the way from serene to the bus stop, which was about 150m. That sprint was exhilarating, and we somehow manage to catch the bus. My legs are still complaining. Ah well.

Time is running out. The promos are almost upon us, my dear comrades. We must fight to the end. Yes. Fight to the bitter end and hope we’re not decimated. Though we might fall along the way, we must pick ourselves up and sally forth to the battlefield. Bend or break, stand or fall, death or glory. But we journey forth together to face the common enemy so let’s be brave.

If you’ve got time right now, please go read A Game of Thrones by George R.R Martin. It’s a really good book about power plays and politics. The thing I don’t like about Martin is that he tends to kill off main characters a lot. A lot. Anyway you can borrow the set from me if you want! Just drop me a msg or something.

Gosh I wish I had time to talk more tonight but I don’t. It’s midnight and my dad is sure to come and make noise again. I’ll try to do a more reflective piece tomorrow…

Thinking of her again.

You’re my first light of the day come again…
