More magic.

ok got to play more magic today, cos i appeared for the tourney.

*magic lingo alert*

anyways i was running a fast monored beatdown deck that pays scant attention to what the other guy's doing, so i didnt feel tired despite playing for a whole day. No-brainer decks are good.

Anyways my confidence was kinda deflated after the first round. i was paired against a red-green land destruction deck which i thought was a pretty good matchup. unfortunately the guy piloting it was Royce Chai, who's one of the best players in Singapore. And luck was shitty. I got mauled by molder slug both times. he went land bird land trellis land molder slug and i just flopped down and died.

Round 2 further deflated my confidence. it was against some affinity deck. First game i got mauled by arbitarily large broodstars. second game my sideboard was brought in. 4 shatter 3 detonates. yes, by rights i should crush the deck like a tin can, but alas after dealing 16 damage i proceed to draw 10 lands in a row. sheesh i run 22 land(well, 18 and 4 moxen). What the heck. incidentally, i didnt see a single artifact destruction spell.

Round 3 was ok. I missed with my charbelcher 3 times and drew lands and hence died shortly to a Viashino Sandstalker. Sigh. I was out topdecked by him anyway so it was kinda fair.

Round 4 was a good round. I went first, then played in the following order:

land, mox, firewalker
land seething song, menacing ogre.
land blistering firecat, shake opponent's hands.

Second round was quite a mauling too. Something like hit him with 2 sliths on turn 2.

Incidentally, my opponent was quite a nice guy, running a blue/black deck with the isochron/metamorphose lock.

Round 5 was good too. My best opponent of the day, running b/w control. I went down to 1 life thanks to the stupid lava hounds, but killed him in the nick of time. Game 2 was good too. Drawing 3 firecats is some good.

Round 6 i did quite ok. lost to bosh twice in a row, after killing plat angel in game 1. sigh. 2 turn clocks.

Overall quite ok, the deck has potential. just that my luck is abysmal.

*end magic lingo*

Did i mention i love japanese food? I watch japan hour every weekend so i can salivate at all the wonderful looking japanese food. yumyumyum.
